Loss, Love.. Life!

On December 5th, I went to the doctor and had a positive blood pregnancy test.  I was thrilled with joy!!  My husband and I were so happy to be adding our third child into this world soon. Then on December 8th, Three days later I woke up with some mild cramping and spotting that turned very heavy and intense.  I called the hospital and ended up staying home until Monday when I went to my regular OB.  They did another blood test and the doctor examined me and she didn't have too many answers for me but said it didn't look good for the baby.  That week I was a wreck, physically and emotionally.  Even though I had lost the baby they still had to have me get a blood test every two days to make sure that my HCG hormone was dropping back down to zero.  Basically making sure my body was doing what it was supposed to, otherwise they would have to medically intervene.

This experience was the hardest thing I have had to go through. I take comfort in the fact that we LOVED that child and he/she will never be forgotten. I also took comfort in my favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"  The Lord has a plan for me, my family and everyone.  A lot of things ran through my head, maybe the Lord's plan for me was to have these two girl's and that was all, I wasn't sure.  Even though I wanted another I had to put it in his hands. I prayed a lot, I cried a lot and tried to resume some type of normal self.

On Monday January 8th,  was on the phone to my friend Charissa, she had asked me when I was able to start trying again and I told her probably after my first cycle but with everything that happened, I didn't know if i could  go through another loss like that... I did the math and realized that if i was on my regular schedule i would be late.  So she urged me to go take a test. I really didn't want to but I did. and it was positive.. so i took another one the next day and that was positive. I called the doctor and they sent me to get a blood draw for my HCG levels and Progesterone.

January 8th I was called with the results HCG came back at a 710 mIU/mL and progesterone at a 18 ( they say 15 or higher is good) and on January 10th I received news that it had risen to 1730.  (A pregnant woman's HCG hormone should double every two days.)
